National public-health video, shot and edited across the country.
Before I started Fade Growth Partner, I spent my time at Washington State University shooting and editing video for EXCITE, a national public-health program.
EXCITE runs through the nonprofit Extension Foundation and Cooperative Extension, a network of more than 70 universities across the country. I flew to campuses in different states, filmed the interviews, shot the B-roll, and cut it into a finished video for the program's national conference. I worked directly with WSU professor Paul Bolls.
The finished piece. I shot and edited it for EXCITE.
How I made it.
EXCITE gets trusted information to rural communities through people they already know. That only works if the video feels honest, so I went out to those communities and filmed them the way they actually are.
I handled it end to end. I flew to universities in different states, lit and shot the interviews with extension staff, nurses, and public-health workers, and got the B-roll that holds it together. Then I cut it into one video and delivered it for the national conference.
I made it with professor Paul Bolls, who studies how people actually process media. That is where I learned to make video that holds attention instead of losing it.
